Tall women with high heels

A lot of my friends are tall, around 5’8-6 feet and they all love to wear high heels. But whenever they wear high heels, the response most of the time is “you are already tall why do you need to wear high heels?”

I am also 5’8 and I love to wear high heels, and one day I was wearing them and one lady came up to me and asked me “why are you wearing high heels, if you know you are already tall, then why do you wear high heels?” I got so mad, but I did not tell her and walked away. Its my choice if I want to wear high heels, regardless of height, whether I am tall or short. Why do people always need to judge or critique people by their looks, body and personality? People always say that certain people, with certain bodies should not wear certain things, like a fat girl should not wear shorts because it wont look good on her. But why we are limiting people to wearing stuff according to their body type, which limits their ability to wear what they want to wear. I think every body wants to wear the clothes they want, and that should be their choice. People should mind their own business, rather then putting their big nose in other people’s business and lives. Every human being wants to look and wear their best, and by being judgmental about it most of the times it hurts other person feelings.

  1. I am 5 feet and I use to wear heels often. For me it was annoying for people to say I was wearing heels to be taller. Its as if I was wearing platform shoes. Some outfits are complimented by heels…thats it.

  2. I can see how that question would be irritating based on the fact that they’re assuming you wear heels for additional height. I mean…it’s not like you’re wearing stilts??? I suggest that though, for the sole purpose of seeing how many people you can piss off.

  3. To wear high heels is to accentuate your sexiness, and to feel powerful and womanly and all around…. feminine. Thats why I wear high heels, at least. And also because I’m 5’2 with short legs so I need all the extra boost I can get! I may be a bit biased right now because I am a shoe collector and utterly obsessed with high heels and will spend my last dime on them at any given time. But, wearing heels makes me feel good, because it accentuates my body in a way wearing flats do not. It makes me walk more proudly, and its like people don’t see me as a child like how they do when I’m wearing sneakers. I like to dress up for me, it’s just something I do. So I totally agree with your annoyance, like why is it necessary for people to really judge what you wear and how you wear it? As long as it makes you feel good and that shows, people need to just accept it. I hate when people nag on me like, “Why are you wearing heels right now? Do you need to everyday?” I’m like no actually I KNOW when and when not to wear heels but If I assess that where I am going does not require strenuous distances to be walked, I WILL throw them on. There are weeks were I end up having to wear heels every single day due to events, then swear off them but end up putting them right back on the next day. Then curse myself like, “If I was 5’8 i’d so only wear heels if I HAD to” because the pain…. The pain. But when writing this, I don’t think my height would make the BIGGEST difference in why or why not I wear heels. I think most of us simply do because we like the way we feel or look in them.
