LADIES , LADIES , LADIES! THIS IS HAPPENING! AND I LOVE IT!

WHY? BECAUSE IT’S HAPPENING HERE IN BALTIMORE, AT MY ALMA MATER , ONE OF THEE TOP SCHOOLS IN MD, THEE NUMBER ONE SCHOOL IN BALTIMORE CITY, LOOK WE ARE JUST THE BEST OKAY!

I hope you understood my excitement from me typing in all caps. Anyway….

Although this is not the first female football player, she is one of very few. Why is this a big deal? Because this goes against the stereotypical, power hungry people who love to kill a persons dream.

In class one day, we had a great discussion about co-ed sports. We touched face on the problems with coed sports and the imaginary barriers that people fear. One of my classmates brought up a great point. He explained that sex  nor gender has all of the influence on how good you can be at a sport. What matters is skill. Immediately I asked myself , ” why aren’t we bff’s already!?”. Being a female who has always had an interest in rough sports, I always got the same response” girls aren’t suppose to play …” or ” women are suppose to be soft and pretty “. Really , because there are women raising young men , fixing cars, and doing other “manly” things. So , how did we get to these stereotypes ? It’s simple. Power. There is power in production and distribution. The world is ran like a business. Before anyone makes an investment or big move, they might ask themselves, ” How do I benefit from this investment?”, ” How much control do I have over this investment?”, “Are there any repercussions ?If so, how bad is it?”. These kind of questions are the ones that shape our organizations, labels, and businesses.
