Coming out to my older brother

So after a long fight within myself and playing events in my head of my older brother freaking the F out, that didn’t even happen. It was like a normal conversation. For the longest time, I really thought that he would go off on me and freak out which is why I neglected to tell him but I feel SO MUCH BETTER. IT”S LIKE A HUGE WEIGHT HAS JUST BEEN LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS!!!!!! I Can FINALLY START BEING MY TRUE SELF IN MY HOUSE!!!! Like I don’t have to hide anymore! Like we were laughing and carrying on because of how accepting he was. At the end of it, He told me that he still loves me and will always love me because I’m his brother and he won’t judge me at all!!!! I still have my biggest battle with my friends and my father but I promise you that I feel soo FREEE!!!!!!!!!! I Love being in the LGBTQ+ Community and I can Finally say that I’m in the right direction on truly becoming Happy!!!

  1. This is so incredible to hear. Congratulations on being courageous enough to tell him and I am so glad that you both value your relationship enough to want to communicate honestly about how you really are. Support from others, especially in your family and home, can have a huge impact on your daily peace and happiness, and I’m so happy to hear that you are feeling like a weight has been lifted! I’m sending you all the good wishes going forwards and feeling more supported in your identity, I hope you have many more experiences of support and unconditional love!

    • Thank you so much. It felt so incredible and he even apologized for his past statements that he’s made and that really felt nice and special. He’s trying to become a better person which makes me so happy. My brother is my guy even though he can be a pain sometimes

  2. Congratulations! I’m so glad that it went well! This is a big step into coming out in a not-so-accepting situation, but now you know that you will have support along the way. Having people accept you for who you are always feels amazing! I hope your journey continues to be positive and that if you do experience hardships, you are able to get through them okay!

    • You guys are so incredible. This truly means everything to me. That was one of my biggest hurdles that I had to overcome. The fact that my older brother handled it so well made my heart melt inside. This is only the first step and I will continue to grow and experience happiness no matter what!

  3. Thank you for being so open about your experience, and congratulations! What a big step to take and I’m so glad to hear how well it went. It is so important to be comfortable in your own skin and it means the world to hear that others accept you in your in skin as well. Keep doing you and do it proudly!!

  4. Congratulations!!!! I am super glad for you that you where able to get that off of your chest and tell him. It must have been scary to come out to him, but its better to comfortable in your own skin than pretend to be some one you are not! Wear your pride proudly!!!

  5. I can feel your happiness and relief through your words. Im very glad it went well, and congratulations! I can only imagine the anxiousness you felt beforehand. Your last sentence was very warming. Congratulations!!! I hope it only gets easier for you to come out to other people you love. 🙂

  6. I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY FOR YOU!! This is such amazing news. Having been through this myself, I know how heavy those words can feel sitting in your mouth and I’m proud that you were able to push them out. It feels so fantastic to have the people that are close to you understand you in that way, I’m so so happy that you have someone like that in your life. I am sending you the best wishes on the rest of your journey and know that everything is on your own time. Follow your heart and do whatever is best for you, ya lil bi baby ❤

  7. Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS!! The nerves of telling someone who you’re unsure fo the response, is so stressful. I had the same experience with my mom. I know that I was pansexual, but my mom is super religious. But my friends were part of the LGBTQ+ community and my mom knew that, but I was afraid if I told her she would be mad and blame my friends. But one day she came up to me and asked me what I was attracted to and it made me so nervous. But I thought, this is my chance, so I told her and she said she doesn’t matter to her because it’s my life, who I want to love, and that she still love me.

I’m so glad you’re free. Live your best life.

  8. It’s always nice seeing positive posts regarding responses towards coming out! Hopefully your Dad comes around and your friends are accepting. Best of luck!

My journey is still a long one but with you guys supporting me and in my corner, I know I will over come every obstacle! From the bottom of my heart…..Thank you soo much. Means everything to me! Truly. Incredible group of people right here!
