*Trigger Warning* Mike Brown’s death discussed in detail
I wanted to write about American Horror Story but I got sidetracked and sickened by the foul display of an American Horror Story of my own, the disregard for black life. As you may already know, Darren Wilson was not indicted for the shooting death of Michael Brown, a teenager that was heading to college mere weeks before the shooting. Why did I put that information about college? Because that was told to me since I was young that I should go to college to make something of myself so that I could be more accepted by the overall white patriarchy. He, unarmed, was shot six times, twice in head, twice in the torso, twice in the arm. Why did I give that gruesome information about his unnecessary death? To let you know that being unarmed won’t fucking save you from your eventual demise as a black person in this country. His body was left in the street for a total of 4 and half hours. Why did I give that detail about his body after the shooting? It is clear that to much of the public that black bodies are dispensable and a hassle to clean up.
I know that Mike Brown attacked a “scared for his life” Darren Wilson. If I could ask Darren Wilson a few questions about his actions it would be: If you already know that it is a felony to attack or maim a cop, then why the additional five shots? Why even use excessive force when you have the system that would back you up in a heart beat? What is there for you to prove? As a black woman, this terrifies me because not only did this decision show that black bodies don’t matter but it plays into the police state and gives it further license to abuse us Americans as citizens. Aren’t the cops supposed to “protect and serve?” They seem to be protecting and serving the white hegemony. We just gave the police the right to use excessive force whenever it is deemed “necessary.” For those of you who may support Darren Wilson, just so you know you also support a system of extreme policing that will never stop. It’s unyielding power has further proven itself in the creepy militarization of our police force today. I watch state after state getting military gear like tanks, assault rifles, and riot gear. I am confused, is this country Iraq or the United States of America? When “necessary” is given no boundaries, citizens are the ones who will be hurt. More specifically, citizens of color have and will continue to be hurt. Though Mike Brown’s black body is resting in power, this black body will continue to fight for humanity because black bodies matter.
Unruly Bodies 
He even said himself in his ABC interview that his first thought when Brown was (ahem, allegedly) charging at him was if he could legally kill him. Darren Wilson is a monster. Worse yet, he’s a monster who got away with killing an unarmed teenager AND GOT PAID TO DO IT. This entire situation is disgusting from top to bottom. Also:

The Michael Brown shooting as well as Darren Wilson’s recent statements from the interview that he did yesterday really made me think about black bodies and how we live in a culture and society that doesn’t value black lives. I really like how you brought up the fact that Michael Brown’s dead body was laying in the street for 4 hours. Since the announcement that Wilson would not be indicted for the death of Michael Brown, I found the media did not bring that fact up at all. I truly believe that in Ferguson, if that there was a dead white body in the street, it wouldn’t have been there for 4 hours. What really stuck out to me about Wilson’s interview was that he said that Michael Brown looked like a “demon” to him and that he felt like a 5 year old against Hulk Hogan. However, Brown and Wilson are the same height and close to the same weight. Historically, America has always portrayed the image of black men as demons with this brutal strength and I think what Wilson’s statements just show even more that we as a society still link black men to these racist stereotypes to justify the demise of black men such as Michael Brown.
