Rage like Banner
In my mind I have rage like Hulk.
I have the rage everyday
I want to roar, smash, and destroy.
But the reality is I am just merely Bruce Banner.
I appear to keep calm to keep peace.
I deny myself love to not reveal the monster inside.
Can I allow myself to be the Hulk?
Do I need to release the Hulk?
Do I have to keep being Bruce Banner?
A (Small) View At Myself
Who is that in the mirror?
The one with the dark hair turned light?
The one with brown eyes that’ve only known muddy days?
Who is she? I mean he? I mean they? I mean me? I mean I? Who am I?
Meat on her bones like fluff on a teddy bear.
Enough to be soft and lovable,
but sometimes too much to hold your arms around.
I am her. I am he. I am they. I am me. I am I.
Learning to Breathe
Stiffen your body and let your body swell.
Open your mouth and take in oxygen.
As air fills your lungs, let your thoughts and worries fill them as well.
Close your mouth and feel yourself full of air and tension.
Now relax your body,
And release all your breath out your nose,
letting your anxiety become one with the wind.
Flying away and high into the atmosphere.
Read this again whenever you are stressed.
Art
This is a GIF I created over the summer for my summer job! This GIF was a piece for our theme of “Music In Our Lives”. I chose to make a GIF where I would express what I feel (color-wise) when I listen to these songs. I have created a playlist of these songs so you can vibe as well!
Music
Down below are two playlist fo music that I love listening to. It doesn’t cover all the music I like, but it’s a small taste of who I am. The playlist are a jumbled mess, so just be prepared. I made two separate playlists: Good Vibesᶜ and Hyped Vibesᴱ. Good Vibesᶜ is a playlist that has clean song and (as far as I checked) has appropriate content, hence the “C”. Hyped Vibesᴱ is a playlist that includes explicit songs, hence the “E”
Final Thoughts
I had so much fun in this course. In the beginning I was dreading blog posts. I always felt like I couldn’t find a good topic or anything that people can relate to. While doing this, I realized that a lot of people share the same feelings that I do. I found that I looked forward to sharing and reading other people’s blogs. You all are incredibly insightful, amazing, and strong. You all shared personal moments, moments where you were unsure, or just expressing your true self. This class really made me accept myself more and to truly see the world around me. And for that I am grateful.
Signing off,
Shanice Morgan-Rios ♡
