Success is something that can’t happen within a day. It takes weeks, months, years even to get where you want to be. But once you hit that accomplishment, then what? Success is something that only you can accomplish, no one’s else can do it for you. It could mean doing things you love or setting a big goal for yourself. My success could be so different from your success. Success can often feel like having a particular time to accomplish something, but in life that’s not always the case. Sometimes life has its own way of showing us that time doesn’t stop for anyone. So, take that jump and let things slowly fall into place.
When it comes to success, a one size fits all approach is impossible. Always remember that you can’t spell success without “u”. So, push yourself each day to be a better person, because nobody is going to do that for you, only you can do that. Like what Churchill said success is never final, failure is never fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. So, don’t be scared to take failure, just because it isn’t how you expected it to be, keep moving forward. In life you will always come across blessings or lessons, no matter how hard things may be don’t give up. Never be afraid of the word no, or rejection. Always believe in yourself. In order to grow you need to become more comfortable of fear and failure. Your true potential will never be matched. Sometimes life will knock you down simply so you can find out what your fight is.
Sometimes you need to feel the pain of defeat to activate your purpose. The struggles that you come across are there to help shape you, on finding your purpose. Life is short so take that jump, be reckless, take care of yourself and make sure to go after what you want!

I loved every word of this and appreciate that you decided to post this. I think with how the pandemic has effected everything and with the political climate, it has personally been making me more nervous about how everything will play out in the future, especially because of college and what will happen after. But this was a very reassuring and needed reminder that my focus needs to be on trying to keep going rather than comparing myself to others or giving myself expectations based on others. So thank you(:
I love how you reiterate how success looks different for everyone. We’re in a society that feeds off of one another so it’s hard not to compare yourself to others’ accomplishments and success stories. I think it’s important to note, as you stated in your blog post, that success is never linear. Success comes with plenty of ups and downs so we can’t beat ourselves up when things don’t go as planned because those lessons that you learn along the way prepare you for something bigger and better. My coach always says “be comfortable with being uncomfortable” and I feel like that saying can be applied to this topic. Success stems from perseverance and sometimes you’re thrown curve balls in life that can slow down your journey to success. However, if you’re able to overcome those obstacles, you might have picked up something useful that can benefit you in the future. I have to remind myself that life is never perfect and every single situation is an opportunity to learn and grow.
I love this post! Everyone defines success differently and we should all be living our lives for ourselves, not anyone else. I think in our culture people tend to constantly compare themselves to others, which is so detrimental. We all have different aspirations and goals in life, so what one person defines as success may not be what someone else defines as success, and that’s okay! We need to remember to live our lives for ourselves and no one else. We are all the main characters of our own stories.
I really enjoyed your post. I think people can often think success is only a certain category of things and if what you end of doing doesn’t fall in it then it’s not really success. I think this perpetuates the ongoing narrative in society is that people must conform to the standards of society in order to be seen as valuable. These similar issues come up with other factions of society like physical appearance, socioeconomic status, etc. I think it is important that success is individual. No one can tell you when you have success and when you don’t. It’s a personal feeling that a person gets and cannot be taken away.
