Whose Body is it?

Way back in high school, I had a friend who was a grade ahead of me. I would not say we were best friends but we were close. He was a popular person that lit up a room with fun and good vibes whenever he entered. As we grew older we saw less and less of each other. Until an exact month before I began college I saw him at target while he was at work and we talked for a long time. He promised me that he would talk to his employer and see about getting me a job and he did. He did talk to his employer and continuously tried to contact me about coming for a job but I already had one and I snobbed him because I just was not that interested at the time. That is a decision I regret till this day. A couple of days before the first day of freshman college year at around 10 on a Friday evening I was scrolling down facebook (this was back in 2011 when facebook was a lot more active). I saw a picture of him with a lot of comments and his best friend wrote a heart felt note. I immediately called his best friend but I didn’t get an answer then I messaged everyone that I knew who knew him and they each told me that he took his life the night before. I was devastated and I remember my sadness turned into a feeling of narcissism. I felt like in a way I made it about me and not about him. I was reminded about this from the conversation we had about the movie. Who’s body is it? To miss someone is completely normal but to be angry about their choice and to put yourself in their shoes is a dangerous thing. I always considered what I would do in that situation and that was not a healthy.
