I think its interesting that I could feel an oncoming breakdown. I mean of course it is that time in the semester where this isn’t surprising, being overwhelmed with everything we have not done yet and we still have to do in this short period of time. But I think this is the first time I noticed I can tell. I can feel the anxiety in my bones in a way.

First we can start with the physicality of it all. Dance, in its traditional ballet form, is an expressive but incredibly restrictive art form. In ballet you body goes through certain fixed movements, there being only about five arm movements in traditional ballet, fluidly. Being en pointe is painful, it pushes you stand taller and stand, literally, on your toes. You get cramps in your feet and legs.

Lately, I have been having trouble with back pain and have always struggled with sporadic headaches and migraines at times. As I have been taking this course I have been paying more attention to how I feel in my body or, in this case, how I hide or joke about how I feel.
