I had never heard of the term, “Intersex” or never really knew that people could be born with both male and female genitalia. It wasn’t until when I took a human sexuality course that I got to learn about the intersex bodies. Intersex bodies seems to be this secret that people are too afraid to talk about, due to the gender identity gap that is associated with it. A lot of people who are intersex find it very difficult to speak about their body, because from an early age they were told not to talk about their body. Continue reading

Everyone Else Wants a Dick in My Mouth (In which society takes one glance at my body and assume they know my whole life)
A few months ago when eating lunch with friends, one of my friends offhandedly commented that ‘men must love [me]’. I realized that she was referring to my ability to fit a large amount of food in my mouth, and assuming that I would use this ability to give great blowjobs (something I have no interest in doing). This got me thinking.
Has it gone that far?
My aunt and cousin were trying to lose some weight for a couple of years, but kept seeing no progress. So about 8months ago they both engaged in a surgical process called Gastric Bypass. Gastric bypass is surgery that helps you lose weight by changing how your stomach and small intestine handle the food you eat. After the surgery, your stomach will be smaller. You will feel full with less food. This process is done to help people who are struggling with weight loss. Since after the surgery both of them have lost a substantial amount of weight.
I just want to say that I have no problem with people who decide to do through these procedures, but while it is good news to see/hear that they are losing weight, I can’t help but ask how far would you go just to look good? What ever happened to personal willpower? Why do we have to rely on all these different surgical processes to lose weight. I can understand if you have a thyroid condition, but if you do not have any condition, then I strongly suggest that you trust on your own self will and power. Losing weight is an experience, it is something that you should be proud to tell others about. No one ever said its going to be easy, but if you have a good diet plan and you make even just a little effort to workout, you will definitely drop some weight. If you have been trying for a while and it is not working, then you need to take a step back, try to do somethings differently and then be patient.
As a woman, I am only skin deep
These days, I find myself more and more annoyed when random people (mostly of the male variety) ask me where I’m from. There seems to be no genuine interest in inquiring about me as a person. Continue reading
Blue Pills
I went on estrogen almost four months ago. I don’t really pay attention to it much –I had to check to see if that was even right. As someone who is on HRT I think there is a serious gap in the discussion.
Who am I? Is my body expressing who I am?
After writing my paper on the argument of the body being a medium, it got me thinking about the question, ‘who am I?’. In most cases, in order for the body to function as a medium of self-expression one need to know who they are in order to know what they are trying to express to others. So in order to express yourself, it is assumed that you know yourself. And of course this got me thinking about how would I answer the question “who am I”?
In my case the question ‘who are you?’ has to be one of the most difficult question for me to answer. Have you ever really looked at yourself and don’t know
really who you are? Like you know who you should be, what people (family, friends, etc,) expects you to be but apart from those expectations, you don’t know who you are? Continue reading
The monster who lives in the corner of my eye
I see you, who comes to me and says:
“Why are you here? You are so pretty
Beautiful
Wise
Funny
Handsome
Creative
Why are you here, so far away?”
And I will give a smile, give you a bold-faced lie, say
“Oh, I am not feeling so well.
I am but an introvert.”
Or something else that glibs my mind.
And when you are away, I will frown, and I will remember
The monster in the corner of my eye.
My dearest friend, the one who has lived with me longer than I have
Who has seen me through my trials with but a smile on its face
The one who I hid away.
Endless Pain
There’s a quote by John Green from one of his books that says, “That’s the thing about pain. It demands to be felt.” I have yet to find another quote that so accurately describes my life. No matter what I’m doing, my pain demands to be acknowledged and throughly felt.

Monsters in America
As I was reading “My Words to Victor Frankenstein”, by Susan Stryker. A lot of transgender related issues started to occur in my head. From equal rights to murders, transgender people deal with these issues on a daily basis. I never thought about it in too much depth, but now looking at it, they may be dealing with these issues on a daily basis because they are viewed as “monsters”. Continue reading
Heartbreak and Lazy Bodies

I guess we all know the feeling of being heartbroken. The nonstop crying, the headache, the baggy eyes, the hate, the loneliness and the list goes on. Most of us associate heartbreak with only the psychological effects, and forget how much of a tool this can have to our body. See, being heartbroken has so much more to do then just going into depression. Continue reading
